Whether you are recording birds with just a cell phone, or you have specialized sound recording gear, sound recording is a useful skill and a great way to support bird monitoring. The seminar on Feb 5th will provide an introduction to focal sound recording, how to get started, and how you can participate in the Big Year of African Sounds

On Feb 6th we will practice sound recording on the grounds of the National Museums. We will have recording equipment available for participants to try out, and will also offer guidance on recording with a cell phone using Merlin Bird ID. Following the sound recording walk we will demonstrate basic editing best practices, and assist anyone that would like to download and edit their own sounds.  If you would like to edit your own files, please bring a computer with sound editing software. Ocenaudio is a good free option: https://www.ocenaudio.com/

Registration is now closed due to high demand. Please look out for more events in the future.
